There's a longing every little girl knows: to wear a saree, just like Mum. We made this one to answer it — a handloom half-saree cut and sewn for a child, so she can have the drape, the border, the whole grown-up grace of a saree, kept wonderfully light and easy. And because a child's moods change by the hour, it's designed to be worn three ways: a proper half-saree with a draped pallu, a simple skirt-and-top, or a full saree look with the pallu over the shoulder. Three outfits, one set, endless dress-up. The colour is a shot bluish-grey — grey one moment, a whisper of green the next — with a boat-neck pintuck blouse and a rich red-and-gold zari border running through blouse, skirt and pallu. It's quietly grand, and, being cotton rather than heavy silk, genuinely comfortable for a small person to wear all day.
