Meet the brother to the grape pavadai. We took the same rich grape and fine golden checks the girls wear, and cut it into a kurta a boy can actually live in: a neat mandarin collar and button placket up top, easy short sleeves, and cream pants with a fine golden stripe and a grape-and-gold hem to tie the set together. Line the two up for a photo and they look made for each other — because they are. Boys' clothes get lived in hard, so we built for it: soft, gentle cotton, reinforced where it counts, and buttons sewn on to stay. Smart for the festival, comfortable long after the last photo. And it's made the way everything we make is made — by hand, with high care, by women in a clean, fair and dignified workshop, to the same standard as the rest of our Onam collection.
